North Yorkshire Community Messaging
During the last few days Huby has again been the area of crime where vehicles have been targeted. In the early hours of Wednesday morning a local resident saw two males acting suspiciously and as a result the same two were arrested. They were arrested for burglary and TUMV ( auto crime ) and as such not allowed to enter North Yorkshire whilst further investigations continue. In light of this can I please ask that residents, where possible ensure that their vehicles are secure and no items are left on view. Items such as work passes, charger leads, work wear etc are removed. For those who have tools in the vehcile it might be worth removing power tools for the time being. Please report any suspicious activity or persons in the area on 101

Almscliffe Hall exists for the benefit of the residents of Huby, Newby, Castley, North Rigton , Stainburn and Weeton and is also available for hire to the general public as a venue for a variety of functions.
The Hall is available for hire to the general public and the facilities, which include a function room, a stage and a well-equipped and recently refurbished kitchen, make it an excellent venue for dances, wedding parties, plays and concerts.

TALKS GROUP
We meet on some 3 rd Thursday afternoons at 2pm in Almscliffe Hall.
The cost is £10 for the 3 talk term or £4.0 for a single one
We do not meet in June—and the last one of this term is July 19
July 19th—Simon Tomson—Roman Castleford.
Simon has been with us before talking about the Lutteral Psalter
he is a tutor with WEA and led many digs around the area.
The next 2 terms are already booked—many thanks to all who attend and support this event
ALL the profit from them goes back to the Hall.

The next one will be July 20th—the evening the schools break up—7 for 7.15 prompt start.

The cost is £4.0 for adults and £1.0 for children—inc refreshments. We have a raffle
We had a super evening on April 27th---we raised over £60 for the Hall
