Further to my original entry, re Samuel Lee, stone mason of North Rigton c1850. I have since learned that he was the son of Thomas Lee born 1785 who in turn was the son of William Lee. Many of the Lee family worked as stone masons in the area during the 1800s.

very interested to see the name John Lee, caretaker. Now residing in Ireland, I was born and lived for 66 years in Leeds.I have recently learned that my grandfather who was also named Frederick Lee was born in North Rigton in 1868 his grandfather was a Samuel Lee a stone mason. I wonder, are there any other decendants of Samuel still residing in the locality ?

The hall's been rebuilt since the late 60s when my father, Joe (died 1999) used to captain the billiard team and I played snooker (not very well). John Lee was caretaker. Memories of Mr Marsh, Fred Longster, The Dalby family, Ron Mennel et al. Bet it cost more than a 'tanner in the machine' for a game of snooker now.
